We're all pinching the pennies! Julia is scouring the world of wine for great value wines adding more and more £8-£13 wines that punch well above their weight. My hubby and I barely go out for a meal anymore when in 'flusher' times we ate out more than we ate in. Partly because I'm learning to love cooking (I'm experimenting with gluten-free so if you have recipes to swap let me know) and partly because the cheapest way to eat is to make it from scratch. I don't know about you, but when I've put hours into a meal it's really important to have a wine that won't disappoint.

SOLD OUT.

The Christmas Wine tasting in December was such a big success that by popular demand we have
decided to make it a quarterly event.

Thursday 11th April. 7.30-9pm.

There will be up to 60 wines to try on the night! Emmanuel on the red table, Megan on the white wine table and I will man the Champagne and dessert wine table.

This time the event is ticketed and numbers limited, so every one has a chance to taste as many wines as possible in a relaxed and sociable manner.

There will be fine cheese, charcuterie, Taleggio and caramelised onion tarts along with some

I promised to tell you all about my Italian Feast! The important bit is that I had to wear my 'fat day jeans' the entire week after the food fest!
We started making foccacia at 10am (I say we but Bruno (sommelier at Bocca di Lupo and amazing chef to boot!) did all the hard labour) and while that was rising and resting and doing it's thing we prepped veal saltimboca, a squash & Gorgonzola risotto and roast red peppers. So yeah - we ate A LOT!
But this isn't about the food - I have priorities - it's all about the wine!

I'm officially researching Christmas wines! My brother and sister-in-law host Christmas Dinner for the 15 strong clan every year and I'm in charge of the wine this time and keen to wow everyone! Trouble is there's a very wide range of palettes - from my mother-in-law who drinks almost exclusively Sauvignon Blanc, my nieces who aren't really sure they like wine yet, my father-in-law and brother-in-law who only drink Rioja and just about everything in between!
